Биография
Une envie de fusionner des influences jamaïcaines des années 70 avec la mouvance bass music, d'apposer une marque électro au dub, leur influence première, tel est le postulat d'Ashkabad. Après un EP éponyme très remarqué, le duo, créé en 2010 par le machiniste Bast (Soul Sindikate & Dub Trooper, Papaya Cake) et le guitariste / chanteur Rodj (V13, My Psy and Me), s'est illustré dans de nombreux lives, notamment aux côtés de Iphaze, Maniacx, Soom T, Kaly Live Dub, Brain Damage Vibronics, Dub Inc., Aba Shanti, Ondubground...
Ashkabad revient avec son deuxième EP, LFO, dont les six titres sont un large spectre des influences de ce duo avignonnais. Leur son électro-dub, enraciné dans le dubstep et le hip hop, se veut instinctif à l'instar d'un laboratoire d'expérimentations de sonorités appliquées à des rythmes, où les textes aux mots bien pesés y sont apposés.
Sans se départir des basses lourdes chères à leur cœur, Ashkabad réalise l'équilibre parfait du métissage des musiques traditionnelles du monde et contemporanéité d'un dub électro sans concession. Riche de rencontres et de coups de cœur (Oddateee, El Feo, Iphaze), LFO est un deuxième EP poétique, percutant et efficace.

Rodj (vocals/guitar) and Bast (machines) have been playing music together for ten years and eventually decided to share their music. Moved by a common need to play reggae/dub their own way (adding to it a bit of drum'n'bass for example), they just cleared the lane and created Ashkabad.
Then everything went very fast for the band : in only three months they released a 5 tracks self-titled E.P (recorded and mixed at the Patch Work studio, south of France), a video clip and played in well reputed clubs of the south of France.
On stage Ashkabad has everything in hand to make you move, dance and blast your heads off! Both old schools and new schools should be satisfied !
