Доп. информация: The Nancy Ska Jazz Orchestra, it's a bit of the training that would have directed Duke Ellington he was born in Jamaica!
Об исполнителе (группе)
We can say that the Nancy Skankin'Jazz Orchestra is the first Big Band to explore the style Ska-Jazz in France.
This training is born from a common passion for the rhythmic jamaican 60's and the richness of the sound of the Big Band swing years. The NSJO brings together the best and brightest of musicians of ska and jazz from the region of Lorraine following formations already well established, such as The Casa Wobbly, Magic Dub Skatolog All Stars, the Tut and the Great Jazz of the rue Sigisbert or Maria Godsinger Devil Quartet.
The repertoire of the Big Band is based on both original compositions as arrangements of the great names in the ska and jazz : Herbie Hancock, The Skatalites, Stan Kenton, Toots and the Maytals... The participation of the young and talented Maria Godsinger the song brings to the whole a vocal presence more than refreshing.

Об альбоме (сборнике)
A gust of ska-jazz formations in recent years does not subside, so do not be surprised that France comes another composition of this exciting style. NANCY SKA JAZZ ORCHESTRA , a 15-membered ska-jazz ensemble for the first time introduced us to their musical travel album 'anachronism'.
A variety of products ie. people in the band, opens up enormous opportunities, but also problems that must be minimized to those opportunities materialize in the right way. If in addition we take into account that this is an extremely elaborate technical demanding musical style, it is clear how this band had a challenging task, which only those most music lovers in order to accept it. Indeed, there is no doubt that NSJO fully up to the task, which can be clearly heard through these 11 compositions.
In the true sense of the term composition NSJO brings an abundance of beautiful and creative arrangements, designed with great care and patience. It is difficult to set aside the issue any composition or main 'anachronism' is perhaps the best example. And yes, indeed it is a copyright work (except for 'Tom Thumb' and 'Lais tomber les filles'), which is an enormous thing for a ska-jazz orchestra at the beginning of his career, since it is known how many other orchestras prefer to work jazz standards.
At times it even difficult to follow all the layers of brass lines, which contribute the most to the fertility and richness of sound, and which complement each other, talk and negotiate, and even in some areas and compete in impovizacijama. However, without a strong and solid foundation in the form rehearsed ska groove has nothing to with the impact of American swing dance gives an irresistible combination. They did not keep only the instrumentals, there are few vocal songs ('Croqueuse d'hommes', 'Les Bones et le baron' 'Lais tomber les filles') in French, which may strengthen the originality and uniqueness of the band and adds to the romantic sound.
Creativity is there. Originality is there. Of practice there. And first love of music, which is the cause of the previous three things. Can you ask for more and better in the beginning? I think not. NSJO has made an album that the world ska and jazz lovers absolutely must take a very important place.
