Fantastic work from Israeli saxophonist Daniel Zamir - one of the most popular jazz musicians in his home nation, and an incredibly spiritual force who just seems to get more and more powerful every time he hits the recording studio! This live performance is wonderful - with Zamir stretching out on soprano sax in these really long, beautifully-crafted lines - full of joy and spirit, and with a unique voice that could well make him one of the more important global reed talents in years to come! You might know Zamir from his early work with John Zorn, during a period when he was living in New York - but in the decade since he's returned to his homeland, his sound has gotten infinitely stronger, and really reaches a new height on this album - which mostly features Daniel in an instrumental mode, but also features a few surprising vocal performances as well.
