A fantastic bit of spiritual soul jazz - sounding very much like some of the best work on Strata East from the 70s, but recorded in Paris with a richly cross-cultural sound! Chiekh Tidiane Fall plays a host of percussion instruments, while Bobby Few adds in piano, and Jo Maka riffs on some fantastic soprano sax - long, lean open lines that inflect the tunes with plenty of soul, and which dance along nicely in the surprising African-tinged rhythms that come from Few's piano! The cuts are all long and modal, with bits of Afro Jazz thrown in, and there's a great groove to most of the record.
