Ла Монте Янг (р. 14 октября 1935 года в городе Берн, Айдахо) - американский композитор и музыкант, ученик и сотрудник Прана Натха, сподвижник Терри Райли, Джона Кейла, Мариан Зазила. Один из родоначальников минимализма. Стиль его работ варьируется от минималистической классики (The Well-Tuned Piano), лёгкого монотонного гудения - дроуна (The Second Dream of High Tension...), медитативной музыки под сильным влиянием религиозной индийской музыки 'рага' (Dream House) до шизоидно-навороченной темы 'B Flat Dorian Blues' и откровенно жёсткого, давящего нойза (Day of Niagara; Poem For Chairs, Tables, Benches, Etc.). Инструменты для звукоизвлечения использовались также самые разнообразные: преимущественно традиционные акустические, иногда - гармонические электронные колебания (т.н.
