Angels On Acid – Eyes Behind The Curtain
Angels on Acid is a three piece outfit hailing from the USA. Founded early 2003 by M!K1LL (vocals, synths, sequencing and sampling) and later on completed by J3SS1C4 (live synths and backing vocals) and The Omen (guitars). There music is a unique blend of EBM, Industrial, psychedelic trance, metal and synthpop into a sound they call “Psybercore”
In june 2007 they released their first full length album “Eyes behind the Curtain”which gave them a massive response worldwide. It gave them the opportunity to play with bands like Combichrist, Imperative Reaction and Assemblage 23. It sold our pretty fast but the band is now signed to DSPB Records who just re-released the album.

EYES BEHIND THE CURTAIN
The title track of the album. Based off of my own experiences with the unexplained. Has a dark gothic, Psytrance , meets metal sound. Inspired by Dark Soho and Depeche Mode combining Synthpop melodic vocals and evil Terror/EBM screaming for the chorus.
THE VILE
Dark and more experimental PSY, Terror/EBM, meets Metal sound. Written in the famous ¾ time signature predominate in old Celtic and African music. Inspired from the horror of our modern society. “The Vile” is my personal description of my own human nature. Also includes our signature dry melodic and Terror style vocals.
MISERY LOVES COMPANY
Definitely the most melodic and pure EBM tracks of the album. Extremely introspective. My main objective was to write something that had a more epic EMB/Futurepop vibe. The lyrics are easy to relate to… We all feed into our own negativity at times. We all find solace and beauty in our sorrow.
DOMINATE
Has a more old school Electro/Industrial sound. Heavily influenced by Skinny Puppy. This song was of the old archive tracks that I decided to keep salvage for the album. The inspiration for “Dominate” is based on global war, the culture and religion that makes humanity kill for their personal beliefs.
HELLION
Has a more Goa meets Terror/EBM vibe. Inspired by Iron Maiden. The lyrics are about a dark angel sworn to fight the endless battle between good and evil.
ASHES
Heavily influenced by dark classical “Ashes” has a very haunting feeling. I chose to write each track in 100% real-time to maintain the integrity of the real classical. No sequencing on this one guys.
NOWHERE TO RUN
Written before I became sober “Nowhere To Run” lyrics speak about the darker side of addiction. Track has a Futurepop/Terror EBM dance ability .This is another old one that I decided to salvage.
THIS PRESENT DARKNESS
Extremely Dark and disturbing. “This Present Darkness” experiments with combing Neuro-Trance and Metal. Dark Soho and Xenomorph came as great inspiration for this dark little treat.
SHADOW DANCE
Futurepop and Metal make “Shadow Dance” reminiscent of KMFDM meets Synthpop.
LEVIATHAN
Inspired by the ancient demon of the sea “Leviathan” is very aggressive and Aggrotech. Gritty droning bass line and leads influenced heavily by Hocico.
I AM THE FUTURE
Written about the age of technology. Describes man as obsolete upon conception. The track experiments with our more Psy/Industrial side. All dry vocals for this one to give a more Synthpop feel to the track.
SALVATION
I wrote this song as I faced a cross roads in my life. I had to ask myself whether to continue down the road of self destruction or to move forward. It was time to say goodbye to the friends and the lifestyle that was slowly killing me. If hadn’t change the path I was heading I wouldn’t be writing this right now.
FALL OF ANGELS
Almost three years old this track was one of my instrumental numbers that always gave me a warm feeling. Imagine an angels fall from grace..
LEVIATHAN (KRI REMIXX)
The exclusive bonus track only available through DSBP Records! Written by Psytrance producer KRI from Shapestatic. An incredible remix that truly takes “Leviathan” to the next level. Very reminiscent of Nitzer Ebb…
