Sara Noxx - one of the award winners of 1997 ZILLO band contest - became almost over night a shooting star of the independent music scene.
Her debut album Noxxious and her single release Society soon guaranteed crowded dancefloors in alternative clubs and they still do today.
Her follow-up album Paradoxx (1998) is marked by electronic sounds, melancholic beats and lyrics full of end time romanticism. Stupid conquered Belgium's sales charts - her charts entry from zero to place 2 drew international attention on the German electro artist.
In 2001, after a three year break, Exxtasy was released. Sara for the first time really was able to present all the variety of her vocal timbre. Her songs, such as Winter Again and Last Desire became modern classics.
2003 was the time many scene relevant music magazines called the Noxx Year. Sara once more entered new paths, released her instrumental album Nonvoxx which convinced even the last few sceptics when it was sold out within a very short time. In Autumn 2003 the album Equinoxx and the single cd Colder Colder were released which claimed the no. 1 position of all European alternative charts for several weeks.
Lyrixx, Sara's first book with poem's of her, was published in Spring 2004 - it is a unique amalgamation of fear and love with poems both vulnerable and impeaching . Critics lavished her with compliments.
In 2008 Sara Noxx released a 3CD set XX-ray including numerous new interpretations, remixes and duets but also a collection of multi lingual interpretations of her work.
The brand new album from Sara Noxx featuring the single Superior Love. Intoxxication (2009) once more shows that the singer and lyricist Sara Noxx is an exceptional artist, leading her own path. In the intensity of the songs, ranging from ElectroClash to minimal electro influences, the artist creates her own sound, which is unique in the scene.
Driving beats meet floating keyboards, added to by the unmistakable and increasingly darkly erotic voice. The songs Superior Love, Deeper, In Flame and Prepossessing sta out like beacons. Hope, speed, obsession, disappointment and rage are the themes of Intoxxication.
Accoustically fascinating electronic beats, assaults with sterile, metronomic bass and hypnotic vocals all combine to create a remarkable and exciting new aspect of Sara Noxx.

Fans of SARA NOXX truly had to starve a long time for a new full-length release, since the album ‘Equinoxx’ was already released in 2003, followed by Sara’s first book ‘Lyrixx’ in 2004. It wasn’t before 2008 that a new release would hit the store shelves with the rich 3CD Box set ‘XX-Ray’ in 2008 and the collaboration with PROJECT PITCHFORK on ‘Erath Song’ later that year. But it still wasn’t a new album. Such an album eventually came out in April called ‘In(t)oxxication’.
Reciting security measures for flights usually isn’t something you would expect to appear in a song. The album opener ‘Flight’ offers just that. If a lascivious voice like this would ever sound from a speaker in a plane, you could be sure at least the male passengers would listen very attentively. Instrumentally, it’s mostly just a simple dance beat and some quavering melodies. The title ‘Your Song’ is almost self-explaining – it’s obviously a declaration of love to a special person in Sara’s life and the best way to do this was putting it into a serene piano ballad. ‘Heart in the Snow’ atmospherically maintains a high density throughout its duration combining it with a couple danceable beats and gloomy moods. It’s getting even calmer on the album with ‘Was it’ infusing minimalist rhythm shards into a wide synth build-up, above which a robotic version of Sara’s voice hovers.
’Prepossessing’ then finally is something more upbeat again and if you wouldn’t be sure you’re listening to SARA NOXX here, you could easily confuse it with an ANNE CLARK song regarding the vocals. Also ‘Inflame’ delivers some dance floor fodder only that this time Sara’s actually singing. The straight ‘Berlin At Night’ closes an album that’s become calmer than one might have expected having many ballads or balladry material and atmospheric tunes alongside the trademark club fillers. he 1997 award winner of the Zillo band contest was often compared to the British artist ANNE CLARK due to her similar voice, but with time; and her further development as a musician, that comparison was to be buried in oblivion. Meanwhile, she’s become a respected and renowned artist that has come up with a plethora of alternative club hits, including her newest offering ‘Superior Love’, the harbinger for her most recent album ‘In(t)oxxication’ released shortly after this single.
The single is split into two separate releases called ‘The Bright Side’ and ‘The Dark Side’, each of which offering a different sound styling of the title track with another vocal partner. ‘The Bright Side’ features Limahl’s voice on the title track which truly gives a 80s charm to the cool electronic sounds. Furthermore, he offers quite a contrast to SARA NOXX breathy vocals. The collaboration with 18 SUMMERS vocalist and lyricist Felix Flaucher brings up a much more old-school-like version with further amplified atmospheric sections. Of each track, there’s also a club version of the song. The “Limahl” version is the cleaner, modern-sounding club rendition, while the “Felix Flaucher” variation offers rather heavy and distorted beats which makes it almost sound like an industrial track.
Included on both singles are also various remixes of the original album version. FUNKER VOGT for instance really didn’t put much effort into making something new out of it, as it simply sounds like a FUNKER VOGT track, just with different vocals. Pummelling club beats and anthemic melody arrangements are the characteristics of the BLUTENGEL remix, while IN MY ROSARY made kind of an electronic Dark Wave track with some Post Punk influences out of it. Really interesting! The album version of the track is the same as with Limahl just without his vocals. Last but not least, ‘The Dark Side’ has another remix of an album track up its sleeves. It’s called ‘Prelude’ and was pushed here into a Dark/Harsh Electro costume by the project VYLEVIRTUE.
I won’t need many words summing up this collection,. Each of the collaborative versions of ‘Superior Love’ is a really exciting one and luckily both have their own sonic identity which makes it worth to even buy both discs. Some of the remixes I’ve heard on the other hand could have been a bit more daring for my tastes, with the exception of the IN MY ROSARY take which is really outstanding.Источник Reflections of DarknessEssexx - Bridges
На малоизвестном лейбле Prussia Records этой весной тихо и скромно вышел альбом Bridges новоиспеченного проекта Essexx, за рулем которого стоит Sven Wolff из довольно известной, но на данный момент распавшейся формации The Dust Of Basement, а также дива-мастодонт немецкой готик-сцены Sara Noxx.
