Shiny Darkness is an Electro Pop / Synth Pop band, with innovative yet familiar electronic sounds.
Shiny Darkness launched and toured their debut album, “Lighthouse”, in 2011. A successful album loaded with “dark” songs but yet very melodic.
In 2012 Shiny Darkness released their second album, My Angel Has Spoken“, an opus still dark but much more upbeat. The band spent the year playing shows around Europe (UK, Belgium, Germany, Spain, France etc.) supporting international bands such as Sigue Sigue Sputnik, Tenek and Blancmange.
The warm reception and fantastic tour around “My Angel Has Spoken” brought them to write a third album… A journey to their teenage years and their feelings’ turmoil and also a vibrant homage to everyone’s first Love: a Mother.
After releasing “Mother” EP which was well received, the much awaited album New Substance is now out.

While the name of the album is the name of their debut band, this 3rd album from Shiny Darkness is truly different. Time has past. Electrons have flown over the wires. A mix of past and future, this is New Substance.
This is “New Substance”. While the name of the album is the name of our original band, the content does not compare. Time has past. Oceans of notes were played. Electrons have flown over the wires.
But I know “we’ll be eternal” [Fields of Love]. I know “I will need you in my heaven” [Mother]. Even if “Suspicious behaviour” [The Course of The Story] finally leads us to “build another time in another world” [Another World].
Embrace life, “Step out of your body and fly away” [Go Outside], and smell the “Black Roses” [Les Roses Noires]. “I have to touch you now” [Sensual Mind], “I see a daemon in your eyes” [All the Time], so… “Don’t Make Me Regret It”.
