DESTINY DREAMING, a quintet based in Karlsruhe, Germany made quite a bit of fuzz in the underground several years ago, with their 1994 demo Horizons. Anyway, DESTINY DREAMING are in the melodic, progressive metal mould, performing everything to perfection, but a bit on the 'light' side, thus not really living up to my personal expectation

As a matter of fact Water Breaks Stone reminds me a lot of later period FATES WARNING. And those in the know will be aware that I'd rather go for their early, epic stuff, as opposed to what they've been up to in recent years. Just like FATES WARNING's A Pleasant Shade Of Gray DESTINY DREAMING's debut is far from bad, it's just not my style.
If you're into anything melodic and progressive, rock rather than metal, I'm sure you'll enjoy Water Breaks Stone.
