By the end of the late 60s and into the early 70s rock had reached its evolutionary peak. In a time where men could take as much pride in their make-up as the ladies, Marc Bolan of T-Rex was the most popular male popster in the U.K. since Elvis. T-Rex front man Marc Bolan is said to have pioneered Glam’s fashion movement and crafted music that was sexy with a surprisingly arty edge. Glam was an opportunity for these artists to manipulate their personas at will, and as a result the fashion style and glitzy showmanship became part of the overall artistic statement.
