Following soon after the release of the debut album, Glorified Magnified introduced the now familiar Earth Band logo on the cover. The listener was this time treated to a series of heavy rock tracks with lots of guitar and keyboard solos mixed with some more wistful moments and another nice Dylan cover It's All Over Now Baby Blue.
1973 - Messin'

The third album came much closer to capturing the band's live sound, particularly on the Mike Hugg title track and Manfred's Buddha. First released on the Vertigo label in the UK, a slightly different album was released by Warner Bros in the States called Rocks Off.
1973 - Solar Fire
1973 - Solar Fire {AIRAC-1108}
1 - Father Of Day, Father Of Night (9:52)
2 - In The Beginning, Darkness (5:19)
3 - Pluto The Dog (2:45)
4 - Solar Fire (5:13)
5 - Saturn, Lord of the Ring. Mercury, the Winged Messenger

7 - Earth The Circle (part 1) (3:47)
8 - Joybringer (3:22)
9 - Father Of Day, Father Of Night (3:01)
Still considered by many followers to be one of the best Earth Band albums, this was the first to be issued on the Bronze label. Following on from the hit single Joybringer, based on Jupiter from Holst's Planet Suite, the album continued the theme, although without the freedom to use any more of Holst's work. Although altogether a fine and atmospheric album there is one outstanding track, a ten minute working of Dylan's Father Of Day Father Of Night.
1974 - The Good Earth
1974 - The Good Earth {AIRAC-1109}
1 - Give Me The Good Earth (8:30)
2 - Launching Place (5:52)

8 - I'll Be Gone #2 (3:28) bonus
9 - Earth Hymn 2A (4:11) bonus
10 - Be Not Too Hard (3:27) (Single version) bonus
Recently the subject of renewed interest, this is the album with which buyers got a free square foot of land on a Welsh hillside. It also carried on the environmental issue first raised on the track Messin' 18 months earlier. A number of fans recently revisited the hillside, still unspoiled and free from the man-made forest that surrounds it.
1975 - Nightingales And Bombers
1975 - Nightingales And Bombers {AIRAC-1110}
1 - Spirits In The Night (6:26)

7 - Fat Nelly (3:20)
8 - As Above So Below (4:13)
9 - Quit Your Low Down Ways (3:22)
10 - Spirits In The Night (3:14)
Includes a famous recording from World War 2 of nightingales singing as bombers pass overhead. This was to be the last album by the first line-up, although one of the high points was the interplay between Manfred on keyboards and Mick's guitar. It also contained the first Springsteen cover, Spirits In The Night.
1976 - The Roaring Silence

7 - Questions (3:56)
8 - Spirits In The Night (single version with Chris Thompson) (3:14)
9 - Blinded By The Light (single version) (3:46)
Late in 1976, the Earth Band toured the States with a new line-up: Chris Thompson (Guitar/Vocals) and Dave Flett (Lead Guitar) replaced Mick Rogers. The album that followed the tour contains the worldwide hit song Blinded By The Light, another Springsteen composition, and like the album was a huge hit. As well as Blinded... highlights include Singing The Dolphin with a super Barbara Thompson sax solo fade. Another great album.
1978 - Watch
1978 - Watch {AIRAC 1130}
1 - Circles (4:46)
2 - Drowning On Dry Land Fish Soup (5:57)
3 - Chicago Institute (5:46)
4 - California (5:29)

9 - Davy's On The Road Again (3:43)
10 - Bouillabaisse (3:59)
11 - The Mighty Quinn (3:36)
Ask any Earth Band fan and they will tell you this album is a classic and so it is. Highlights are difficult to pick out on such a great rock record but California, Davy's On The Road Again and Martha's Madman are all wonderful examples of Earth Band at its best. The album also features a reworking of Manfred's 1968 hit The Mighty Quinn written, of course, by Bob Dylan
1979 - Angel Station
1979 - Angel Station {AIRAC-1131}
1 - Don't Kill It Carol (6:14)

9 - Resurrection (2:34)
10 - Don't Kill It Carol (3:55)
11 - You Angel You (3:45)
After a longish wait, the new Earth Band featuring Chris Thompson, Manfred Mann, Pat King, Geoff Britten and guitarist/vocalist Steve Waller launched another of the great Earth Band albums. Again the whole album is really good but outstanding tracks include Don't Kill It Carol penned by Mike Heron and Dylan's You Angel You.
1982 - Somewhere in Afrika
1982 - Somewhere in Afrika {AIRAC-1133}
1 - Tribal Statistics (4:12)

6 - Redemption Song (No Kwazulu) (3:06)
7 - Somewhere In Afrika (2:38)
8 - Wardream (4:12)
9 - Redemption Song (4:39)
10 - Eyes Of Nostradamus (3:44)
11 - Holiday's End
12 - Demolition Man (3:44) (Single version)
Released in Europe by Bronze in late 1982, in the UK in 1983 and in a revised form in the States in 1984. This album as indicated by the title has a strong African flavour and uses a variety of African singers and chants to good effect long before others tried to do this. Despite the strong African feel the album is still strongly Earth Band. Highlights are many but must include a brilliant version of Bob Marley's Redemption Song and Sting's Demolition Man. The US version featured the hit single Runner and another new song Rebel as well as the return of Mick Rogers.
