Sting (Стинг), настоящее имя — Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner (Гордон Мэтью Томас Самнер) (род. 2 октября 1951) — английский рок-музыкант и актёр, лидер группы The Police (1976—84 г.г.). С 1984 г. выступает сольно. Свой псевдоним Стинг получил за черно-желтый полосатый свитер, в котором впервые появился на сцене. Глагол to sting означает 'жалить', в переносном смысле 'язвить'.
